Need a tensioner puller? We can supply one. Tell us the conductor, the span and the tension the job has to hold, and we will quote.
    On the bench

Machines we are still working on

Engineering does not stop when a machine leaves the bench. These are the ones we are actively developing.

Tell us about the job. What contractors need on site is what shapes which of these we finish first, and in what capacity. If a machine here is close to what your work requires, do let us know. Tensioner pullers are available from us now.
    Safety

Why every BMC winch has a negative brake

A negative brake will not allow the load to come down until the automatic brake is released. On a tower erection job, that is the difference between a controlled lift and a dropped one.

Our 5 ton machines also carry an automatic safety clamp and a grooved shaft that stops the steel wire rope overlapping on the capstan. These are not options — they are fitted as standard, because the machine is replacing a practice the industry should have stopped years ago: using agricultural tractors to erect transmission towers.

Load testing on our own bench. Every winch is pulled to a safe load of 7 ton before it is supplied.
    Common questions

    What buyers usually ask us

Who manufactures tower erection winches in India?

BMC Power Co. manufactures tower erection winches at its own works in Delhi. We build 5 ton mechanical winches, trolley mounted 5 ton winches, 5 ton hydraulic winches and an 8 ton winch cum puller, all designed for transmission tower erection, stringing of low and medium voltage overhead lines and underground cabling. Our machines are supplied to Larsen & Toubro, KEC International, Tata Projects, Kalpataru Power Transmission, Afcons, Ashoka Buildcon and many others.

What is a negative brake on a winch, and why does it matter?

A negative brake will not allow the load to come down until the automatic brake is released. On a tower erection job that is the difference between a controlled lift and a dropped one. Every BMC Power winch has one fitted as standard, along with an automatic safety clamp and a grooved shaft that stops the steel wire rope overlapping on the capstan.

Can a winch replace a tractor for tower erection?

Yes, and it should. For years crews have improvised with agricultural tractors because imported pulling equipment was too expensive. That practice is unsafe and slow. Our machines were engineered specifically to replace it: compact enough for rough, hard to reach sites, able to run in remote areas with no electricity supply, and priced so that a contractor does not have to choose between safety and cost.

What pull capacity do your winches offer?

Our 5 ton mechanical and hydraulic winches give a maximum pull of 50 kN, delivered across three gears at 50 kN, 35 kN and 16 kN. We also build to order, so if you need a capacity, drum arrangement, mounting or engine option that is not in the standard range, tell us what the job requires.

How are your winches tested before dispatch?

Every winch is anchored to a customised test bench at our works and pulled under load before it is released. A 5 ton machine is taken to a safe load of 7 ton, so the rating you are quoted has margin behind it rather than being the point at which the machine stops.

    Do you supply tensioner pullers?

Yes. We can supply a tensioner puller now, although we do not manufacture it ourselves. Tell us the conductor, the span and the tension you need to hold and we will quote. Separately we are developing our own indigenous tensioner puller, because the machines used for this work in India are almost entirely imported.

    Do you supply outside India?

Yes. We supply customers in Africa, the Middle East, South East Asia and Central Asia, and we have exhibited internationally since 2018, beginning with Middle East Electricity in Dubai. We also handle enquiries from Europe and China.

What spare parts do you supply?

Alongside the machines we manufacture, we have supplied aftermarket spares for heavy earthmoving machinery since 1995: diesel engine spares for CAT, Cummins, Kirloskar, Greaves, Komatsu, Eicher and Volvo, undercarriage and ground engaging tools, batching plant and concrete pump wear parts, Tata and Ashok Leyland spares, bearings, filters, V-belts, oil seals, hydraulics and a great deal more. The range runs far wider than any page can list — send a part number or a photograph of the worn item and we will tell you what we can get.

    How quickly can you quote?

Send the part number, or a photograph of the part along with the machine model, by WhatsApp or through the enquiry form. We aim to confirm availability and price the same working day.
